Set reminders under Appointments > Settings > Communications. Square blocks promotional language in appointment notifications: “Marketing and promotional language will be blocked.” Square’s waitlist lets clients join from the booking site, and won’t alert the same client twice within six hours. It isn’t available for classes.

What Square leaves to you
- Rebooking reminders. Nothing in Square’s help center lets you remind a client when they are due back, such as a tox touch-up at 12 weeks or a lash fill at 3.
- Abandoned bookings. Someone picks a service and a time, then leaves. Square doesn’t follow up.
- Waitlist on Free. The waitlist is a Plus feature.
“I’d love to be able to automatically send a thank you note and maybe even a request for feedback or a review. It seems like a pretty basic and useful function to have.”
The automations in Foyer
- Abandoned booking recovery (on by default). One email, an hour after someone reaches the contact step without booking (set anywhere from 15 minutes to 24 hours). Never sent if they booked, or after two days.
- Rebooking reminders. Set the weeks per service group, from 1 to 52. One email when that time has passed, unless they already rebooked.
- Waitlist alerts (on by default). Foyer re-checks your Square availability and emails up to three open times, once per request.
- Review requests. The morning after a visit. See review requests.
Every email links to your booking page, comes in your widget’s colors, and goes at most once per person per trigger. A booking within seven days of an email counts as won back, with its value, on your Overview. Foyer sends by email; text messages are not part of Foyer today.
Rebooking intervals that work
| Service | Remind after | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Neurotoxin (tox) | 12 weeks | Most clients notice it wearing off at 3 to 4 months |
| Filler | 6 to 9 months | Depends on area and product |
| Facials and peels | 4 to 6 weeks | One skin cycle |
| Lash fills | 2 to 3 weeks | Natural shed cycle |
| Brazilian wax | 4 to 5 weeks | Hair growth cycle |
| Haircut | 6 to 8 weeks | Shape grows out |
Start with these, then adjust from your own clients: Foyer shows how many reminders turned into bookings for each group.
