Foyer

A Square Online alternative built for appointment businesses

Square Online is free and already connected to your bookings. It is also where a lot of med spas and salons end up with a slow, template-looking site on a square.site address. Foyer Page is a one-page site built from your Square data, with branded booking on it.

What we found reviewing 196 Square Online med spa sites

In October 2026 we graded the homepages of 196 med spa websites built on Square Online, from screenshots, against 50 med spas on other platforms:

  • 78% looked like a stock Square template. The average design score was 2.65 out of 5.
  • The median page took 6.7 seconds to load in our crawl.
  • 37% were on the free plan, on a square.site address.
  • 48% would clearly be better off with a single focused page, against 32% of the comparison group.

The most common problems, in order: a weak or missing Book button, tiny or missing branding, a dated look, stock model photos, no reviews, an unclear offer, and a homepage that is just Square’s bare booking list. Square’s own community shows the same pain: “How do I change the way my services are in order” and “How do I edit the general description” threads each pass 75,000 views.

What Foyer Page is

  • Built for you on connect. Your business name, description, logo, address, phone and hours come from Square, with your services, photos, team and membership plans.
  • One page, fixed sections: hero, services and prices, reviews, team, membership, hours and location, questions, and a sticky Book bar on phones. Turn sections on or off; no page builder to wrestle with.
  • Booking built in. Every Book button opens Foyer’s widget with deposits, memberships, packages and promo codes.
  • Your best Google reviews. Choose up to three, word for word. The rating shows only at 4.3 stars or above.
  • Edits go back to Square. Change hours or service photos once and Square updates too.
  • Fast and search-ready. Server-rendered with no page builder scripts, plus page titles, local business details and FAQ markup.
  • Old links keep working. Square Online paths like /book, /services and /contact forward to the right section of your page.

When to keep Square Online

Keep Square Online if you sell products online, or your site has many pages that already bring in search traffic: replacing a 15-page site with one page can cost you rankings. In that case, keep the site and add the Foyer widget instead. On the free plan, Square Online’s tracking code setting accepts site-wide code; embed sections need Square Plus.

Switch to Foyer Page if your site is mostly a menu and a Book button, you are on a square.site address, or the site looks like everyone else’s.

Questions Square sellers ask

Is Square Online free?

Yes. Square Online is included in Square Free with a square.site address, the website builder and your Appointments booking page. A custom domain and embed code sections need Square Plus, $49 a month per location.

Can I use my own domain with Square Online for free?

No. Connecting your own domain to Square Online needs Square Plus or Premium. Free sites use a square.site subdomain.

What is a good alternative to Square Online for a salon or med spa?

If your site is mostly services and a Book button, a one-page site built from your Square data, like Foyer Page, is faster to run and keeps booking on brand. If you sell products online, keep Square Online or another store builder.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I switch?

Small sites rarely do if old links redirect. Foyer Page forwards Square Online paths like /book and /services. Sites with many pages that rank on their own are better off keeping the site and adding the widget.

Does Foyer Page work with Square Appointments?

Yes. It reads your services, team and hours from Square, and every booking goes to your Square calendar.
